RE: PRESS RELEASE – MELVIN ROSS - PLEA
Melvin Ross (DOB: 01/30/77), of East 143rd
Street, Bronx, New York and the City of Kingston pled guilty on October 5,
2012, to the crime of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the third
Degree, a class B felony. On December 20th
and December 28th, the defendant sold cocaine in the presence of an
undercover police officer in the City of Kingston. Ross has an extensive criminal history,
dating back to 1995; including, but not limited to, three prior felonious drug
convictions. He is scheduled to be
sentenced on December 11th, 2012. It is
expected he will be sentenced to an eight year state prison term by County
Court Judge Donald A. Williams.
Ross was arrested as part of Operation Clean Sweep.
